Inside the Story
MUSE – Canadian Museums Association Magazine design
Muse is the official publication of the Canadian Museums Association, serving as the voice of the museum community across Canada. As the lead designer, I collaborated closely with the editorial team to deliver a publication that balances engaging visuals with well-structured content, aligning with the magazine’s mission to inform, inspire, and connect museum professionals.
My Role
My work on Muse as a contractor until 2024 included:
- Developing the visual identity and layout system for the magazine.
- Ensuring each issue reflected the tone and priorities of the museum community.
- Creating bilingual design treatments (English and French) with balanced hierarchy and flow.
- Integrating photography, infographics, and artwork to support written content.

- Accessible Design: Font choices, contrast, and image selection all enhance readability and visual flow.
- Cultural Relevance: Visuals are selected and positioned to reflect the depth and diversity of Canadian museums.
