Promoting Quality Standards Through Motion Graphics Campaign: Canada Soccer National Youth Club Licensing Program

Motion Graphics Campaign: Celebrating Quality Soccer Across Canada

Motion/animation project: 60 seconds duration.

In preparation for the 2023 season, Canada Soccer launched a campaign to raise awareness of its National Youth Club Licensing Program and the requirement for all youth clubs to meet the Quality Soccer Provider (QSP) standard.

This 60-second motion graphics video was developed as the campaign’s central asset, serving as a public service announcement (PSA) and visual call-to-action. The animation was created to promote the values underpinning the QSP standard: safe, inclusive, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate training environments for all young players.

Motion Graphics Campaign as a Strategic Communication Tool

Designed in both English and French, the animation is part of a broader toolkit including:

  • Shorter cutdowns (30 and 15 seconds)
  • Social media graphics
  • A one-pager summarizing QSP values
  • A supporting media release for national distribution

The campaign visuals use a vibrant soccer stadium backdrop and strong iconography to highlight mandatory standards and inspire national alignment.

Outcome

This project demonstrates how clear, branded animation can deliver powerful messages across digital platforms. It also highlights the role of motion design in aligning national organizations with their member associations to drive shared goals and raise the bar for youth development programs.

What It Takes to Launch a Motion Graphics Campaign

  • 1. Initial Contact & Project Briefing: Understand the client’s objectives, target audience, and communication needs.
  • 2. Creative Proposal: Present a clear outline including goals, messaging approach, deliverables, and timelines.
  • 3. Concept Development: Brainstorm narrative structure, visual style, and key visual metaphors with client input.
  • 4. Asset Gathering: Collect logos, branding materials, guidelines, and messaging content (EN/FR if applicable).
  • 5. Scriptwriting & Storyboarding: Translate the concept into a script and visual roadmap for animation.
  • 6. Design Presentation: Share early motion design frames, color schemes, and typography for approval.
  • 7. Animation Production: Bring everything to life using motion graphics tools like After Effects.
  • 8. Voiceover & Audio Mix: Integrate narration, music, and sound design for a professional finish.
  • 9. Client Review & Revisions: Provide previews and accommodate refinements based on feedback.
  • 10. Delivery & Deployment: Export final versions in multiple durations and languages. Support rollout across digital channels.
